How to Make Cafe Latte Shakeology

I am so happy you clicked on this post because I could not WAIT to tell you about the new Cafe Latte Shakeology! I was honestly not expecting it to be so delicious! I like coffee but I only drink it when I’m sleepy and I need to drive as I’m very sensitive to caffeine disrupting my sleep patterns. Since you couldn’t come over, I made a video of my first taste testing!

I now have more options for my Shakeology. I tend to find a recipe I like and stick with that every day. I’ve been drinking the following for over a year now!

Chocolate Covered Strawberry Shakeology

1/2 scoop Chocolate Shakeology

1/2 scoop Strawberry Shakeology

1 cup frozen strawberries but I often mix in some frozen mango/peaches for that smooth texture

12 oz cold water (if your strawberries are fresh, use crushed ice/water).

Blend in my Vitamin and I’m in heaven! Because I need to get in more greens, I do add in 1cup fresh organic baby spinach, baby kale, Swiss chard but it makes it a bit more green tasting.

I think next I will try 1/2 Cafe Latte Shakeology and 1/2 Vanilla Shakeology. Since I am gluten-free/grain-free, egg-free, dairy-free, I often can not have the deserts that my kids are having. I now have a healthy, delicious option!

Chocolate Silk Shakeology

1/2 scoop Cafe Late Shakeology

1/2 scoop Chocolate Shakeology

2 tbsp Organic Coconut Milk

12oz chopped ice/water

Blend!!! This was so creamy and smooth, it reminded me of ice cream! I will try making a chocolate cream pie with this so stay tuned!!

One thing that I love about Cafe Latte Shakeology is that it uses a previously discarded part of the coffee bean harvesting process.

It’s formulated with WHOLE Coffee Fruit*—a coveted superfood powerhouse that’s native to regions of Mexico and India. Coffee fruit is the red fleshy fruit that surrounds what we know to be the coffee bean! Not only does Café Latte taste great, but the use of the entire plant also minimizes Shakeology’s carbon footprint.

and…

By consuming both the fruit and the seed of the coffee plant your body, especially your brain, benefits from this superfood’s beneficial antioxidant properties, as well as its chlorogenic acids, polyphenols, and phytonutrients. In nature, the synergy of consuming plants and herbs in their entirety can have greater benefits for the human body than when only part of the plant is consumed.

Strawberry Shakeology + Chocolate Shakeology = DA BOMB!

My Strawberry Shakeology finally arrived! I tried it with water in a shaker cup as I might have it while on the road. It was tasty but definitely not my preferred method, ha ha ha. My go to drink has been the following:

1/2 scoop Chocolate Shakeology
1/2 scoop Vanilla Shakeology
1/2 serving frozen strawberries or blueberries (my fav)
1/2 cup So Delicious Coconut milk
8 oz water
1-2cups greens (baby kale, baby spinach, swiss chard0
Blend in my mixer and enjoy!

Today, I just subbed Strawberry Shakeology for Vanilla Shakeology.

1/2 scoop Chocolate Shakeology
1/2 scoop Strawberry Shakeology
1/2 serving frozen strawberries
1/2 cup So Delicious Coconut milk
8 oz water

Blend in my mixer! This was so smooth and creamy. A bit thicker and it would be a wonderful pudding. Or, you can add a bit of avocado to really give it that pudding texture. You can see by the smile on my face, I was very delighted with the flavor and texture. This will be my new go-to mix. I’m not like most people – I do not change up very often. I find one or two that I like, and I just stick with that. I need one meal of my day to require little thought, but be packed full of nutrition!

UPDATE: I tried 1/2 chocolate Shakeology + 1/2 Strawberry Shakeology + frozen blueberries = NOT da bomb. The blueberries muddied the flavor. It was MOST definitely drinkable, but not that soul-soothing flavor of 1/2 chocolate Shakeology + 1/2 Strawberry Shakeology + frozen +frozen strawberries I had yesterday!

____________________________________________________________

Strawberry Shakeology has arrived!

With my autoimmune issues and intense workouts, I certainly need to fuel my body. Whether your body is being taxed daily by health issues or you’re taxing your body daily with intense workouts, you need to pay attention to nutrition.

“Athletes in particular must be paying close attention to their diet for a number of reasons. First, they are going to have much greater fuel and energy demands than other individuals.

While the average sedentary person may not have all that many requirements for clean burning energy, the athlete requires a much greater amount. Each day you need to perform your best if you hope to make progress in your athletic efforts and you need fuel to do this.

In addition to that, athletes also have greater vitamin, minerals, and antioxidant requirements than the average person as well. You are constantly placing increased stress loads on the body and this is going to take its toll on you unless you are fueling your body as you should be.” – Nutrition for Athletes: How to Increase Your Energy, Speed and Endurance by Jennifer S. Roman

One way I meet my nutritional needs is with Shakeology. I have it every day. I will sometimes have it before a hard workout to fuel the workout while other times, I have it afterwards to help recovery after a workout! I am very excited about the new Strawberry Shakeology which is now shipping! My current go to formulation is 1/2 scoop Chocolate Shakeology, 1/2 scoop Vanilla Shakeology, 1/2 serv frozen berries, 1/2 cup So-Delicious Coconut Milk, 1-2 cups of baby spinach/baby kale/swiss chard for added antioxidants, 8 oz water —-> blend until smooth and enjoy! One of the first recipes I will try will be the Strawberry Vanilla Shakeology recipe below!

Another staple in my house is guacamole!

For other tasty avocado treats, check out more recipes at Nom Nom Paleo. I have made her avocado and basil dressing that is in her Nom Nom Paleo iPad app. It is delicious! You can use it as mayonnaise or salad dressing. It’s very versatile. This Chilled Cream of Avocado Soup with Dungeness Crab sounds amazing! Let me know if you try it!

Are your energy levels low? Are you tired and sluggish?

Are you suffering from a lack of energy?

I too suffered from a lack of energy. I would wake up wondering how I would get through the day, caring for my young children. Fortunately, a friend recommended P90X. From there I slowly started working on my nutrition, based on the nutrition guide, and my energy levels improved by leaps and bounds! That is why is just makes my heart sing when I can pay it forward and do the same for someone else.

“For the last 3-4 weeks I have been having Shakeology in the am 3-4 times a week. I decided not to take it on vacation…big mistake….HUGE… I can really feel the difference in my energy level. It is low and sluggish. I did not take it because I had ordered the big bag and did not want it to spill. Changing order to the individual packages so it will not happen again. Also decided to try the vanilla as well.”

Nutrition is so important. Don’t accept that fatigue is a normal part of the aging process or simply due to a busy life. Look at what you’re eating and make small changes and begin to nourish your body!

I received this post from one of my Focus T25 Challengers today!

“I started week 5 yesterday with total body. I still had the energy to complete the workout despite my two days off. My weight remains the same, however, I can move my watch to the next loop hole, my thighs or becoming smaller, my legs are toned, and my clothes are becoming loose. Not giving up just because the scale is not moving like I want it to. I continue to have a lot of energy, I can perform the moves faster and with better form, and I’m not taking a long nap after work, I’m sleeping through the night and waking up ready to go the next morning. I also notice I can return home and perform physical activities, such as, picking up the pine cones in my yard after my workout or after a long day of shopping. In the past I would usually sit lay down and go to sleep. So Alpha round almost completed getting ready for Beta.”

Can you change your life in FOUR WEEKS???? HECK YES!!! This is what it is all about! Sure it’s great to fit into that dress or bathing suit, but ultimately, it’s about QUALITY of LIFE!!! Sleeping well, feeling great, doing household tasks with ease, I got all teary eyed just reading this. This truely is what Beachbody is all about! These are the changes that keep you playing the game for the long haul rather than quitting once you reach that short term goal of fitting into that dress or bathing suit!

And here is another one!

“I am down 7.2 lbs, 2 inches from waist, and 1 inch from arms. Feeling good:) loving my shakeology with almond milk banana. Yes but honestly I don’t look much different:) however I feel so much better. I have a lot on my shoulders right now and I so happy I started this program it has helped tremendously with coping. That’s my real reward:)”
